Welcome to the Chelsea School District Afterschool Care Program. We provide safe and affordable care for Chelsea School District young fives/kindergarten through fifth grade students after school.
Chelsea Community Education’s Summer Camp, Camp GABIKA, creates a fun, safe space for kids to express themselves, explore new ideas and challenges, build lasting friendships and social skills while keeping their bodies and minds healthy and active!
Chelsea Community Preschool uses the High Scope curriculum to help children develop the skills necessary to succeed as they head into their K-12 careers. We have many class options available. We offer a GSRP Tuition-Free Preschool.
Chelsea School District Community Education and Recreation is dedicated to educating and enriching the community.
First Steps Washtenaw is an early childhood parent education and family support program serving families throughout pregnancy until their child enters kindergarten, usually age 5.
Chelsea Community Education provides all youth and adult recreation activities to the residents of the Chelsea School District, including the City of Chelsea, as well as outlying areas outside District boundaries.
Adult enrichment with Community Education means evening and weekend programs for adults of all ages and interests. These programs are open to residents of the Chelsea School District, and also to adults who reside outside of the District boundaries.
Chelsea Community Education's 4-week Super Saturday program offers children Pre-K through 6th grade an opportunity to explore new interests and activities without a big time or money commitment.
Youth enrichment is one of the main components of Community Education. We offer after-school, evening and some weekend youth enrichment programs.

Chelsea’s Community Education Summer Camp GABIKA 2026
Our outstanding staff lead campers through our summer of fun engaging activities and games. Campers participate in weekly activities including sports, games, arts, crafts, local walking trips, outdoor and indoor activities, off site field trips and front yard field trips, visiting local parks and businesses, cooking and gardening with seniors, Chelsea District Library Book Mobile Visits, cooking with local guest chef’s. *Campers will be able to participate in water activities to cool off at camp such as Water World: sprinklers, and water games, and field trips to a sprinkler park.
Dates: Monday through Friday
1st Day of Camp: Wednesday June 10, 2026 through Last Day of Camp: Friday August 14th, 2026
No camp June 19th, July 3rd or July 6th.
Eligible Ages:
Must have completed Y5 or Kindergarten through 5th Grade.
Rates &Times:
Camp Day 8:00am - 4:00pm
2 day minimum per week requirement, 2 weeks registration minimum
2 days a week (T/TH) $190/week
3 days a week (M/W/F) $270/week
5 days a week $350/week
Camp fees are non refundable. This includes absences, schedule changes, and early withdrawals.

*Last week of camp is contingent on the Chelsea School District start date for the 2026/2027 School Year. If school begins before Labor Day, the last week of camp will be cancelled to give staff prep time for the school year. This will be communicated.
