Welcome to the Chelsea School District Afterschool Care Program. We provide safe and affordable care for Chelsea School District young fives/kindergarten through fifth grade students after school and on many non-school days.
Chelsea Community Education’s Summer Camp, Camp GABIKA, creates a fun, safe space for kids to express themselves, explore new ideas and challenges, build lasting friendships and social skills while keeping their bodies and minds healthy and active!
Chelsea Community Preschool uses the High Scope curriculum to help children develop the skills necessary to succeed as they head into their K-12 careers. We have many class options available.
Chelsea School District Community Education and Recreation is dedicated to educating and enriching the community.
First Steps Washtenaw is an early childhood parent education and family support program serving families throughout pregnancy until their child enters kindergarten, usually age 5.
Chelsea Community Education provides all youth and adult recreation activities to the residents of the Chelsea School District, including the City of Chelsea, as well as outlying areas outside District boundaries.
Adult enrichment with Community Education means evening and weekend programs for adults of all ages and interests. These programs are open to residents of the Chelsea School District, and also to adults who reside outside of the District boundaries.
Chelsea Community Education's 4-week Super Saturday program offers children Pre-K through 6th grade an opportunity to explore new interests and activities without a big time or money commitment.
Youth enrichment is one of the main components of Community Education. We offer after-school, evening and some weekend youth enrichment programs.

Chelsea’s Community Education Summer Camp GABIKA 2025
GABIKA: Grand Activities with Bold Imagination and Kinship in Adventure. Our outstanding staff lead campers through our summer of fun engaging activities and games. Campers participate in weekly activities including sports, games, arts, crafts, local walking trips, outdoor and indoor activities, off site field trips and front yard field trips, visiting local parks and businesses, cooking and gardening with seniors, Chelsea District Library Book Mobile Visits, Martial Arts with Chelsea ATA, cooking with local guest chef’s. *Campers will be able to participate in water activities to cool off at camp such as Water World: sprinklers, and water games, and field trips to a sprinkler park.

(Closed July 3&4)
Eligible Ages: Must have completed Y5 or Kindergarten through 5th Grade.
Rates &Times
Camp Day 8:30am-4:30pm $293/week or $68.11/day
Week of 6/11 & Week of 6/30 Rate: Daily Rate only
2 day minimum per week requirement, 2 weeks registration minimum
Before Care 7:30am-8:30am Separate Registration $7.00 (this will require creation of a separate contract)
Any changes to schedule changes require at least 30 days notice and schedule change fees will apply after May 15th. Refunds will not be issued without a 30 day notice.
After May 15, registration is available depending on staffing and available space by contacting the Community Education office communityed@chelseaschools.org 734-433-2204 ext 4001.
