Welcome to the Chelsea School District Afterschool Care Program. We provide safe and affordable care for Chelsea School District young fives/kindergarten through fifth grade students after school and on many non-school days.
Chelsea Community Education’s Summer Camp, Camp GABIKA, creates a fun, safe space for kids to express themselves, explore new ideas and challenges, build lasting friendships and social skills while keeping their bodies and minds healthy and active!
Chelsea Community Preschool uses the High Scope curriculum to help children develop the skills necessary to succeed as they head into their K-12 careers. We have many class options available. We offer a GSRP Tuition-Free Preschool.
Chelsea School District Community Education and Recreation is dedicated to educating and enriching the community.
First Steps Washtenaw is an early childhood parent education and family support program serving families throughout pregnancy until their child enters kindergarten, usually age 5.
Chelsea Community Education provides all youth and adult recreation activities to the residents of the Chelsea School District, including the City of Chelsea, as well as outlying areas outside District boundaries.
Adult enrichment with Community Education means evening and weekend programs for adults of all ages and interests. These programs are open to residents of the Chelsea School District, and also to adults who reside outside of the District boundaries.
Chelsea Community Education's 4-week Super Saturday program offers children Pre-K through 6th grade an opportunity to explore new interests and activities without a big time or money commitment.
Youth enrichment is one of the main components of Community Education. We offer after-school, evening and some weekend youth enrichment programs.

Are you ready for another season of America’s pastime? Community Education will be fielding numerous teams for the majors and minors divisions of softball. Minors softball divisions will be Coach Pitch (ages 6 - 8) and Minors (ages 9 & 10). Majors softball is for 11 & 12 year olds and Juniors is for 12 - 14 year olds.
Practices and games will be intermixed during the season and will take place on various fields, including at South Meadows, Beach, WSEC, CHS and Dana fields. Your registration fee will include the cost of your player’s team jersey and hat, as well as pants and belt for minors player pitch and above.
We cannot run a successful program without the help of parent volunteers as coaches, and we will need a head coach for each team. If you are interested in being the head coach of a team, please call the Community Education office at (734) 433-2204, Ext. 4001 to complete registration. There will be a coaches meeting prior to the start of the season.

HEAD COACH VOLUNTEERS: Your player plays for free! Right now, you only need to register on the SportsConnect website above. Eleyo registration with Community Rec will follow. There will be a coaches meeting prior to the start of the season.
AGE DETERMINATION DATE: The Age Determination Date for a Baseball player is the actual age of a child on August 31 of the current year. The Age Determination Date for a Softball player is the actual age of a child on December 31 of the previous year.
